new year.

2010 is here! I have not looked forward to a new year as much as I have this one in a long time. I think it’s because this year feels so full of promise, change, and new opportunities. I’m really excited about the changes that are happening with Eunice Brownlee Photography, mostly because this year, the business is officially opening its doors! After five years of working this business off and on, part-time, I am jumping in with both feet and am determined to make this my best year yet!

So what kinds of things can you expect in the new year?

More giving. As I have continued my faith journey this past year, the lesson that I have learned is how important it is to give back to the communities we live in. So this year, I’ll be featuring a different charity each month that will receive a part of my profits for their organization. In addition, I am planning several fund-raising events throughout the year to benefit even more non-profits.

Fresh art. I fell in love with photography while in school shooting mostly art photography. As I have gotten into more wedding and event photography, I have been shooting less frequently “just because.” Starting today, I am attempting to shoot a 365 series – a photo a day for the year. Check back each day for the installments, or find the set here.  I’ll also be creating a rotating set of work to display at Il Posto throughout the year.

New look. I hope to have my new website ready to unveil within a few weeks and the “Eunice Brownlee Photography” brand will be ready to go.

Fun events. As well as the charity events I am planning this year, I’ll also have three or four mini session dates planned for those of you that are short on time or are still needing to mind the “extra” expenditures. I hope to make each one fun and entertaining and produce great art portraits in the process.

Travel, travel, travel. Any of you that know me know that I *love* to travel. This year, I plan to do more of that. If you happen to be in a place that I am traveling to and are interested in doing a shoot, please, let me know. For sure I will be in Seattle in the spring and Albuquerque in the next month or so.

Awesome products. I have spent so much time this year reviewing new vendors and their product offerings, and I am excited to add fun, new things to my product line, including mini books, metal prints, art cards, graduation announcements and more!

These are just some of the cool things in the queue for 2010. I hope your years look as promising and I hope to see you soon!
